New Windows

It has been way to long since I last posted. I just don't enjoy writing as much as I love reading what everyone else posts.
Today we are getting new windows and I am so excited. Boy can you tell I am old. When you start getting excited about new windows that says alot about you. But anyway, they look so nice. It's like being in a different house. They have brightened it up so much. The outside of our house is just a little boring so we go the windows with the grids in them and I think they will perk up things a little bit more. Now if I can just talk Ross into putting a porch on the front of the house we would be all set, but there is little chance of that. Ross always says if it aint broke don't fix it, but I will hold out hope that maybe someday he will see the error of this kind of thinking and get on board with what I want to do. Until then I will try to be content. The key word here is TRY.

MOTHER'S DAY

I had a great day. I had Natalie's kids because they are in Italy so Ross fixed me breakfast and the kids delivered it to me in bed. Heidi was so excited to do that. We went to church and then grilled out at Macy's. Ross bought be a great NY strip and it was delicious. I made a couple of pies and we had some pasta. The food was delicious if I do say so myself. I talked to all the kids so that made my day. I have wonderful kids. I look at them and think I must not have been as bad a mom as I sometimes think I was or they wouldn't have turned out so great. Nat and Chad get back on Wed. and I am excited to hear about their adventures. Heidi told me on Sunday that she misses her mommy's pretty smile. I thought that was so sweet. Vanessa and Ryan are coming on Wed. also to look for a place to rent when they move back next month. They will only be here until Sat. and then they will be back for good the end of June. Whoopeeeeee.
Life is good.

TENNESSEE

Well I made it back from Tennessee. We had a good time but it was cold. I was hoping for some sun and didn't get any until the 3rd day we were there and since we came home on the 4th day, well it wasn't spring that is for sure. We had a good time visiting with everyone. Alan is as cheap as ever though and wouldn't turn up the heat, it was almost like being home with Ross except Ross leaves for work and then I get warm, Alan never left, yikes I was cold. We did a lot of laughing as I was sure we would. We stayed with Adrianne and Miles. They have such a cute house. She is so much fun. I made her some blocks for the baby's room and she really liked them. I think they are cute, but hey I made them so maybe I'm not really impartial on the subject. We got to see Marissa a lot and she is doing pretty good. She has such struggles with her health. I can only imagine what she lives with daily. She has two of the cutest and nicest kids. It was nice to spend time with them too.
Today is Earth Day and Macy and I are heading out to the yarn shop in Warsaw for a sale. We both just got started knitting and I am really enjoying it. I'm not very good yet, but I do like it and I feel like I have a hobby now. I will post later about the great yarns that I am hoping to find.

OFF TO TENNESSEE

After the first session of Conference today I will be heading to my sisters in Greencastle and then tomorrow we will be going to Tennessee to visit my brother Alan. I am excited to go. I haven't seen my sister for quite a while, in fact we haven't even exchanged our birthday gifts and our birthdays were Feb. 1st. I am looking forward to a week full of laughter. I will post more when I get home. Yeah~!!!!

SO SAD

Well I am pretty sad today. Ben called and they are going to Oregon to Dental School this fall. He had been accepted at Louisville and I was really hoping they would choose to go there, but no such luck. I am sad because now I won't get to see their little boys very much, in fact maybe twice a year. I just hate that they won't know us. I have such a close relationship with the other grandkids and it breaks my heart to know they won't really know grandma and grandpa Staller. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Guess I'll go and have myself a good cry.

BIRTHDAY BLOG

Well yesterday was my birthday. I wish I could say I had a wonderful time, but I spent most of the day being sick to my stomach. We went out on Saturday with Jon and Linda Knecht and Sandy(Cook) Leonard and her husband John. That was a lot of fun but on the way home I wasn't feeling very good. We went to South Bend so it was a good little drive and being in the car really didn't help much. Anyway I missed church and then Natalie and Macy came over with the birthday meal that had been planned. I was feeling a little better by then so I guess the whole day wasn't a wash out. At least going to church at 1pm gave me a little longer time to recuperate before they got here. Had it been a noon deal I am pretty sure I would have cancelled. Anyway I was sick last year on my birthday too. So I guess this just means that I will have no more birthdays. That would be fine with. No I really don't mind getting older when I think of the alternative. I'm just not ready to leave this world just yet. I would like to be here to see my grandkids grow up and then when I am old and decrepid I can move in with whichever child I think deserves me the most. Let me think, who gave me the most grief?!!!! I went to the eye Dr. today and got some new killer glasses. I am pretty excited to get them. It's always fun to have a change. Ross probably won't like them, but then Ross' taste in fashion really isn't what it should be. It's a nice sunny day today so that will keep me happy.

Whitley's Wedding Shower

I love this picture of Whitley and her friends at her wedding shower. She is still the tallest of the bunch. Not much has changed since grade school.

The Grandkids

Just a few pictures of my adorable grandkids. This is Owen in his Halloween outfit and Sophie just coloring some pictures for grandma

Learning To Post Pictures

Much of what you see won't make much sense since I am just now learning how to post pictures. Yeah I am not computer savy at all and I am the first to admit it.

HEAT WAVE

Oh my goodness I just looked at the thermometer and we are having a heat wave, it is all the way up to ZERO. I just might have to don my bathing suit and go out and get some rays, because the sun is actually shining quite nicely. When we went to bed last the the temp was -16. Yikes it was cold. I was just glad I didn't have to be out in it, unfortunately Ross wasn't so lucky. He works until 11pm so he was heading home in that frigid weather. I have Vivian and Sophie for a few days. Macy went to the hospital late yesterday afternoon to be induced, so we are hoping to hear something soon. Vivian was soooo excited to have a sleepover at grandma's. Hope she is as excited about a baby brother. I think Viv is excited, but not to sure about Sophie. She is more of a mama's girl than Viv ever was, so we will see how she reacts to sharing mommy. Anyway hope we will warm up soon.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas 2009

I know, I know, everyone is over the holidays, but for me the shopping is just starting. I love to shop early. I have already found lots of great deals. You see I'm not sick of shopping because I didn't wait until the last minute to make my purchases. Now I know some of you like the hustle and bustle of the mall in December, but I would just as soon put a gun to my head. I don't like all the crowds. I like to walk into a store and shop at my leisure and if I see something, I don't want to have to wrestle someone else to see who gets it first. You know me I am more of the laid back kinda person. I just love shopping for a bargain. It gets my adrenaline running. But most of all I like having everything done early so I can enjoy the holidays and not feel the strain on my brain or on my purse. You all should try it. You don't know what you are missing!!!!

AHHHHH

Well the holidays are over and as much as I love getting ready for them I am always ready to get back to normal. Well as normal as we can be!!!! We had a great Christmas, but I missed not having all the kids here. We share the holidays as most do with the in-laws. I am getting use to it, but it is always great when everyone is here. Macy and Natalie were both home this year so that made it good. Ross and I slept in til 9 o'clock. I am sure that is the latest we have ever slept on Christmas in our lives. It was wonderful. The girls came over aroun 11 and we had brunch and opened our presents. We headed down to Ross' moms around 3pm. Oh yea before we made it to his mothers, Ross successfully ran us into a horse fence and the ditch. Unless I forgot to mention we had an ice storm a week before and the back roads were still a sheet of ice. So of course we were on a road that had not been traveled on, I mean why would it, it was like someones driveway, and we or I should say HE couldn't get slowed enough to make the turn and we slid right into the ditch and fence. I am just glad it was his car and not mine. So his bumper is pretty messed up. That is the second time he has gone in the ditch on Christmas day going to his mothers. Needless to say no one is going to want to ride with him on Christmas, at least not if they have a brain in their head. Ross got a Wii for Christmas and he loves it. He is like a little kid when he plays. Or maybe he really is reverting to his childhood? Anyway it was a good day.
Vanessa surprised us with a visit home on the 30th of Dec. She was here until today, the 3rd. She missed us so much, no really she had some time off work that wasn't anticipated and decided to surprise us. It was great. They will be home for good this summer since Ryan will be done with Dental School. I can hardly wait. Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.
